Glossy Ibis

A very beautiful bird up close.

Great Blue Heron

This is a Florida photo complete with palm tree.

Anhinga

This bird is in breeding plumage. We called him spike.

Yellow Crowned Night Heron

Yellow Crowned Night Heron

A beautiful secretive bird.

Wood Stork

These birds are on the threatened list and have been listed as endangered. There appeared to be numerous birds locally around the everglade national park.

I love the reflection in this photo.

White Ibis

These birds were plentiful throughout the Florida Everglades.

Snowy Egret

These birds always looked better with a dark background. This one posed beautifully.

Snowy Egret

These birds were being fed and they were very aggresive towards each other.

Ruddy Duck

Royal Tern with a Sandwich Tern in the Background

These birds were on the beach at Palm beach along with 20 or so laughing gulls. I did not notice the Sandwich Tern until after I had taken the photo of the Royal Tern.

Roseate Spoonbill

This is the bird I wanted to find in Fl

orida and find them I did in several locations. I also took close up shots of them in a bird rehab center but they had a bad case of head feather loss. This occurs often when birds are in captivity.

Purple Gallinule

also a very shy bird. This one actually came out of the shrubs and posed for us.

Painted Bunting

This is a very shy bird and I certainly would not have found it if a friend of mine told me where to find them.

Limpkin

Green Heron

These birds are relatively tame along the boardwalks in the Florida Everglades. They are mostly quite dormant and you need to be lucky to see them stalking their prey.

Great Blue Heron

This bird was actually on a nest at about 10feet off the ground. The nest does have eggs in it if you look closely.

Flamingos with White Ibis in the background

Flamingo

These birds are quite rare in the Florida area. This one was at a park in Florida

Double Crested Cormorant

Caracara

Black Vulture
