These birds are on the threatened list and have been listed as endangered. There appeared to be numerous birds locally around the everglade national park.
These birds were on the beach at Palm beach along with 20 or so laughing gulls. I did not notice the Sandwich Tern until after I had taken the photo of the Royal Tern.

These birds are relatively tame along the boardwalks in the Florida Everglades. They are mostly quite dormant and you need to be lucky to see them stalking their prey.
This bird was displaying to a dozed photographers on the Anhinga Trail. Although locally rare, a grooved billed ani is even rarer. This bird could be a groove billed ani but the detail in this photo cannot confirm this.
